Colombia has 1600 kilometers of coastline on the Caribbean Sea and 1300 kilometers on the Pacific Ocean. In total, more than three hundred beaches with different settings, activities and facilities. Some have all the amenities required by tourists and others are real natural paradises, where you just might be all by yourself.

Caribbean Coast
In the far north of Colombia, you will encounter beautiful beaches and a lot of culture in the colonial city of Cartagena de Indias. This walled city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is one of the highlights of Colombia. the typical Colombian Vallenato music comes from here and you'll find the atmosphere and the people are very different to those in the mountains in the south. There is a lot of music in the streets and there is a very relaxed atmosphere. The looks of the people here are different because there is a mix between Spaniards and Mestizos and Africans. Santa Marta is also a favorite holiday destination for Colombians. The beaches are lovely and the Tayrona National Park is nearby. You can take a 6-day hike to Ciudad Perdida, one of the archaeological treasures that Columbia has to offer. It is a challenging walk through a fantastically beautiful area!
